Memorial:Sister Metha Jackson

"Pleasant Words Are Like A Honey Comb"
Sister Metha Jackson
Alpha April 7, 1913
Omega August 19, 1984

Service Saturday, August 25, 1984

Sister Metha Jackson was the daughter of the late Sister Fannie and Brother Everett Jackson. She was reared and spent her early life in and around the Mt. Pleasant Community. At an early age she joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and attended regularly until she moved away.

Upon establishing residence in Yankton, South Dakota, she attended the Second Baptist Church and remained faithful in attendance until her health failed. She always returned to her roots, Mt. Pleasant, at every available opportunity.

Sister Jackson, like other weary, faithful christian soldiers, was willing to trade a lifetime for a day in paradise on August 19, 1984 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Survivors to cherish her memory include: a daughter; Mrs. Mertia Rease McBride, Wichita Falls, Texas; five sisters; Mrs. Lizzie Woodard, Monroe, Louisiana; Mrs. Zoola Holiday, Yankton, South Dakota; Mrs. Easter Inghram, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Mrs. Mandy Griffin, Shreveport, Louisiana; and Mrs. Lydia Cakas, Los Angeles, California,; four grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
