Welcome to Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church's new blog. This will be in a work in progress for some time as we learn to create and manage our posts.

We hope you'll begin to find content that will be helpful in your daily walks with God as well as begin to see our upcoming memorial posts for those whose earthly bodies lay at rest in the Mount Pleasant Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorial: Brother Lessel L. Hanspard

Brother Lessel Hanspard, the son of the late Esrow and Dessie Hanspard was one of six children born to this union in West Monroe, Louisiana. Four siblings proceded him in death: Archie, Livie Lane, Willie and Louis.
At an early age the family moved to Pontiac, Michigan. Les graduated from Oakland Community College in Auburn Hills Michigan with a degree in Engineering Computer Aided Designs (CAD). He was employed by the General Motors Corporation for many years.
He was married to Geraldine Palmieri; to this union two children were born.
After taking a medical leave from General Motors, Lessel moved to Calhoun, Louisiana. He loved attending Jerusalem Baptist Church and his home church, Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, where he recently joined the Male Chorus.
He was a very special and caring person and will be missed by all.
