Memorial: Sister Gracie Hanspard

"Without warning death plucked a flower"
Mrs. Gracie Hanspard
Alpha (unknown)
Omega July 3, 1965

Service Wednesday, July 7, 1965

Without warning death plucked a flow from our garden on July 3, 1965 at 6:10 AM and Sister Gracie Hanspard was called from earth to heaven.

She was born in Malvern, Arkansas and came to Louisiana in 1932. Joined the church at a youthful age and was active in all church auxiliaries but would often say church ushering was her favorite. She invested her many talents into every broading good works which she could find. She was ever ready to do what was needed and always on the alert as to how she could help, comfort and cheer someone. She visited and nursed the sick and shared with friends and neighbors willingly.
She loved her Lord and wanted to please Him. It will be hard to find someone to fill the places where she served.
Gracie Steverson was married to Albert Corprue of Calhoun, Louisiana. To this union nine children were born. Later she was married to the late A.D. Hanspard and was blessed with two lovely daughters.
She leaves to mourn her passing: a devoted mother, Mrs. Lena Hawkins, Malvern, Arkansas; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Mae Sikes, San Francisco, California; four brothers, Messrs. Archie Steverson, Columbia, Louisiana; Joe Steverson, San Francisco, California; Nolan Steverson, Buffalo, New York; Louis Steverson, Cleveland, Ohio; the following children: Mm er. Annie Mae Wiley, Alice J Rush, Mildred Jackson, Jessie Mae, Carrie J. Hanspard West Monroe, Louisiana; Lena Mae Caldwell, Ruston, Louisiana; Masters Albert, Jr., Johnny Corprue, Chicago, Illinois, J.T. Corprue, Calhoun, Louisiana, Robert and Archie Joe Corprue, West Monroe, Louisiana; Mm er. Corene Kidd, West Monroe, West Monroe, Louisiana, Elaine Taylor, Calhoun, Louisiana; Katherine Anding, New Mexico; Eunice Lea, Oakland, California; Messrs. Curtis Lee Hanspard, Victor Hanspard, West Monroe, Louisiana; Isaac Hanspard, Chicago, Illinois, Felton Hanspard, Pontiac, Michigan, many grandchildren, two aunts and a host of relatives and friends.
