On November 10, 1911, the late Mr. and Mrs. Mose Head were blessed with a baby boy and they named him Elmer.

He was reared by the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Green. Elmer grew up in the Mt. Pleasant Community.

He confessed Christ at an early age. He joined the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church where he served as Usher for many years.

On February 20, 1932 he united in Holy matrimony with Janice Hanspard. To this union was born five children, four girls and one boy.

On July 29, 1980, God called him to rest at 7:35 AM at Glenwood Hospital, West Monroe, Louisiana.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories: a devout wife, Mrs. Janice Head; four daughters, Mrs. Gertie Woods, Monroe, Louisiana, Mrs. Ella Washington, West Monroe, Louisiana, Mrs. Marguerite Rigsby, Chicago, Illinois and Mrs. Iola Stanley, Monroe, Louisiana; one son, Mr. Elmer Ray Head, Chicago, Illinois; four brothers, Daniel Head, Leroy Patterson, Dotson Green and Bennie Green; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Perry and Mrs. Gertrude Jones; thirteen grandchildren; one aunt, Mrs. Gertrude Roberts; and a host of other relatives and friends.
