Memorial: Deacon Nathaniel Jackson

"Who hath believed our report?"
Deacon Nathaniel Jackson
Alpha May 12, 1907
Omega July 17, 1977

Service Saturday, July 23, 1977
Brother Nathaniel Jackson was born May 12, 1907 to the late Fannie & Everett Jackson. He confessed Christ at an early age, joining the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was an ardent worker until death. He served as a choir member, Sunday School Superintendent for 40 years and a faithful Deacon, giving many fruitful years in the Masters service. Because of his many virtues and the consistent Christian life he lived he has won numerous men and women to Christ.

Brother Jackson was ever true to his high office as Deacon of Mt. Pleasant. He was ever mindful of the charge which Paul gave to Christian Deacons in I Timothy, Third Chapter. Because he lived up to this high commission of the Deacon's manifold tasks as expressed by Paul, we know that today in his heavenly home he has already received that higher degree that "good degree" Paul mentioned. He was an active member of Prince Hall Mason Lodge 58.
On Sunday, July 17, 1977 at 10:10 PM in the Saint Francis Medical Center of Monroe, Louisiana the Angel of Death came and called his faithful and devout laborer, Brother Nathaniel Jackson, home. Brother Jackson had one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Williams (preceded him in death)

He will be sadly missed by his survivors: his wife, Mrs. Isabell Jackson, West Monroe, Louisiana; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Wiley, West Monroe, Louisiana;  two sons, Kenneth Jackson, West Monroe, Louisiana, Jesse Jackson, Haywood, California; seven sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Woodard, Monroe, Louisiana; Mrs. Ardella Jackson, West Monroe, Louisiana; Mrs. Amanda Griffin, Shreveport, Louisiana; Mrs. Lydia Cokus, Los Angeles, California; Mrs. Easter Ingraham, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Miss Mether Jackson and Mrs. Zula Holliday, Yankton, South Dakota; thirteen grandchildren; one aunt, one uncle, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
