Memorial: Sister Gladys Cassey Jackson

Gladys Cassey Jackson was born in Jackson Parish on January 16, 1918 to the union of Fred and Sarah Cassey.

She moved to Ouachita Parish and joined Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church during her childhood. Later, during her residence in West Monroe, she united with Piney Grove Baptist Church and Dyers Chapel C.M.E. Church. She re-united with Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in 1969, and remained until death.

Gladys was married to Phillip Jackson in 1962. She departed this life Sunday, January 10, 1971 at 11:30 a.m. in Glenwood Hospital after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include: a husband, Phillip Jackson; two brothers, Fred and Hershell Cassey, West Monroe; one sister, Mrs. Gertrude McGuire, Chatham; one great aunt, Mrs. Laura Jackson; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
