Bennie, born July 24, 1929 to the late Oscar and Minnie Foster Green, was the youngest of three children. He accepted Christ at an early age and was united with the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.

He attended the old St. John School in the Mt. Pleasant Community, West Monroe, Louisiana. He later joined the United States Army where he served during the Korean War in England.

After returning from the army, he met and later united in marriage to Mary Loyce Lewis on June 22, 1957. To this union, two children were born.

Bennie was employed at the W.B. Nelson Lumber Company for approximately 30 years. After retirement, he aided in taking care of his "Aunt Gert" and others in the Mt. Pleasant Community. He had a great sense of humor and said just what he thought.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Minnie Green, his sister, Gertrude Green Jones, and his wife, Mary Lewis Green.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Linda Ann (Marcus) Stringfellow, Ruston, LA; Glenda Ruth Gloss, Farmerville, LA; one son, Edward Charles (Rhonda) Lewis, Longview, TX; one brother, Dodson Prince Green, Rancho Cardova, CA; five grandchildren, Jennifer and Jessica Glosson, Farmerville, LA; Markuetric Dodson Stringfellow, Santa Clara, CA; Chandalyn Lewis, Longview, TX; and Shantia L. Stringfellow, Ruston, LA; one great-grandchild, Chyna M. Glosson, Farmerville, LA; two nephews, Thomas Green, El Grove, CA; Mike D. Green, Sacramento, CA; one niece, Peggy G. Thomas, Sacramento, CA; special friends, JesseWiley, Jr and Reese Wade, sister and brothers-in-law, and other relatives and friends.
